FEATURES

Drag. Select.
Understand.

Snipwise sits quietly in your tray. When something on your screen doesn't make sense, press a shortcut, drag over it, and get an explanation or an answer. Then keep asking.

For Windows 10 and 11. macOS is coming soon.

THE BASICS

From confusing to clear in four steps

1 Press the shortcut

From any window, press Alt Shift S. Your screen dims and Snipwise gets ready to capture. You can change the shortcut in Settings.

Alt + Shift + S

2 Drag over what you need

Draw a box around a question, a block of code, a chart, a paragraph or an error message. Press Enter to capture the whole screen instead, or Esc to cancel.

3 Get your answer

Your snip is explained straight away, and the reply appears as it is written. Out of the box Snipwise explains what it sees. You can pick a different default in Settings.

Explain Answer: B) 84

4 Keep going

Ask a follow-up, attach a picture, or tap a quick prompt to solve, summarize, translate or pull out the text. The whole conversation stays with the snip.

WHAT IT CAN DO

Seven ways to use a snip

Pick the one that fits. You can switch to another on the same snip without capturing it again.

Explain

Walks through the question, code, chart or error message in plain language, then gives the answer.

Solve

Works through every problem step by step and puts the final answer on its own line.

Quick answer

A line or two of working and the answer. Nothing more.

Practice

Writes a new question like the one you snipped, with the answer after a divider so you can try first.

Summarize

Boils a page or passage down to a few bullet points with the key ideas and numbers.

Extract text

Copies the text, tables, code and math out of the picture exactly as written.

Translate

Translates the text on screen into the language you choose in Settings.

MAKE IT YOURS

Customizable

Snipwise bends to the way you work. Change the keyboard shortcuts, switch the theme, and decide what a snip does and where the answer appears. It all lives in Settings, and Snipwise remembers your choices.

Hide it from screen sharing

Presenting or recording? Switch on Stealth mode and Snipwise asks Windows to keep it out of screen sharing and recordings, while you keep seeing it on your own screen. It will not show up in your own snips either. It relies on Windows, so it may not work with every program or device, such as a phone camera.

GOOD TO KNOW

Your snips, your computer

Your snips and the replies you get are saved on your own computer, not on Snipwise's servers. To write a reply, the snip is sent over an encrypted connection to the AI service that answers it. Read the Privacy Policy for exactly what happens to it.
Snipwise's replies come from AI, and AI can be wrong. Check anything important before you rely on it, and follow the rules of your school, workplace or exam about using AI tools.
